Ivermectin is an anti-infective agent that repels a variety of parasitic nematodes and is used in the treatment of scabies and ontococcosis (river blindness). It is usually taken orally in one or two doses. Ivermycin may cause a slight self-limited elevation of serum transaminase. In rare cases, it can lead to clinically significant liver damage.
