Jamshedpur, October 8: A meeting of the district health committee chaired by deputy commissioner East Singhbhum Vijaya Jadhav was held on Saturday.
During the meeting the vaccination rate of 12-14 age group was not found satisfactory and it was suggested to coordinate with the education department in making a list of all the missed children, school wise, it was directed to camp in the schools and achieve 100 percent achievement.
In this age group, against the target 110843, the first dose has been given to 75765 and the second dose to 47565 only. On the other hand, on poor performance in Patmada, Dhalbhumgarh, Dumaria, Potka, Chakulia blocks in the above 18 years and in 15-17 age groups (both doses) with less than 70 percent achievement, the concerned medical officer in-charge (MOIC) were asked to bring expected progress in the next week.
The achievement of the district in institutional delivery was found to be 88 percent. A total of 4164 deliveries took place in the month of September, out of which 4128 were institutional and 36 were home deliveries. The Deputy Commissioner directed to make delivery in all PHCs and Health Sub Centers and warned the medical officer in charge that not a single delivery should take place at home. Last month, eight deliveries took place in Dumaria, about which the Deputy Commissioner clearly said that they should start following up the maternity before the delivery time so that they can be brought for institutional delivery in time.
The Deputy Commissioner gave clear instructions regarding pre-natal check-up that if pregnancy kit is available to all the health workers, then the information of pregnant women should also be given to MOIC so that they can get the right medical consultation till delivery by starting their antenatal check-up at the right time, so that the mother and the baby are in good health. The Deputy Commissioner said that during the nutrition month campaign conducted in the month of September, about 480 malnourished children were identified and they should be followed up regularly till they are completely healthy after treatment in malnutrition treatment centre. In the year 2022-23, a total of 594 children were admitted for malnutrition treatment of which 546 children were sent home after treatment, the bed occupancy in MTC is 100 percent.
In the MDA (Filariasis and Albendazole) campaign, the achievement of 73 per cent has been directed to be increased to 100 per cent in the next 10 days. This time MDA campaign was conducted in urban area and Patmada Bodam block. In the meeting, instructions were also given to bring public awareness by reviewing malaria, family planning programmes, TB eradication campaign etc
